Z had his first exposure to trail work today and behaved like a trooper. Met with mountain bikers (who said "WOW!" when they saw him) like a real gentleman and stayed within sight of me at all times, off leash, while I was lopping new growth from all the recent rain we've had. Of course he got his mud bath in the wet areas and was NOT so handsome looking when we finished!

Zephyr's First Days at Home

Zephyr of Zion came home on the last day of January, 2009. It was a cold and snowy drive and the howling from the crate in the back of my car let me know this boy did not like to be confined! He met his housemates Pepper, mama black lab, and Belgique, little black kitty, with composure and slowly investigated his new surroundings. He has scampered down the snow paths my husband shoveled out for him in the backyard and can go down and UP the stairs from the porch now. This gentle grey breeze has blown through the rooms in our house, bringing with him new hope, much joy and lots of love! We'll call him "Z".
